dear handsome,

so this week you have proven your weight in gold.
thanks for taking so much time to be with the kit this week.
i was really busy as per usual and really needed you and viola, you were there.
so to express my gratitude i am going to be showered and all dolled up for five days in a row.
lets see, friday, saturday, sunday, monday, tuesday...oh boy.
that my darling is some serious appreciation.

i am super pumped that it is the weekend although it always seems to go by so fast.
i love listening to conference while you are snoozing pretending to listen.
i will take copious notes for you.
promise.

i hope you know how much we love you.
we love you as much as nikson loves to pose a "big smile" for the camera.

a little shop update

coral and coconut has been quite the adventure.
i swear every time we make something i wish i could just keep it.
my latest obsession is our terra cotta pots.
i guess that is the hardest part about opening up a shop with pretty things you love.
can i sell to myself please?
anyway- lots of fun new items in our shop windows.

and for all you baby lovers out there, i didn't forget about you...
this little mess had a ball learning how to draw on the sidewalk with chalk.
he kind of figured it out after he ate a handful of dirt, wiped his runny nose all over his face, and ate some chalk.
the boy is loving being outside.

oooh i just want to kiss his skinny little face.

sunshine and shadows

springtime is here and we are absolutely loving it.
in fact, nikson loves this weather so much, when we get clouds and cold, he is a total crank.
when it's sunny though, we have the happiest of babes.

we started planting a few things to welcome in spring.
everything is red.
i have a thing for red.
this morning we added a few primrose to celebrate Hunger Games.
still haven't seen it..i know...woe is me.

my little green thumb.
he loves helping by posing cute for pictures.

i decided real grass for the little's Easter basket was a fun idea this year!

can't wait to show you how well it does.

one of these days we will have some pictures with the whole family.
its nice that handsome can take quality pictures, but it would be nicer for him to be in the pictures.

something delicious

i don't have much time to blog today.
i have a messy house on the mend.
this weekend did a number on the cottage.
whoa.
so for your enjoyment i have selected a few recipes that our tummies have given two thumbs up.
i am trying to add more variety to the diet.
my selection of mostly pasta meals would prove otherwise.
the little downs brown rice pasta like nobody's business so naturally we give the boy what he wants.

dearest handsome most handsomest,

i must apologize for my zombie-like, melancholy state this week.
with the little not sleeping well it makes for the mama bird's days to not be so cheery.
how can i make it up to you?
maybe we could dye eggs

or we could make our own music video for this song.

(i would have posted the original, but Wally is naked...eeee)

maybe we could ride our bikes since it will be the bestest weather ever.

we should probably fly to the beach for the weekend to do this.

whatever we choose to do, i promise i will disconnect from my sleepy, mopey self and engage in some serious blake and nikson time. 

also- the way we woke up this morning was my favorite.

you really truly are the greatest husband.

three loves.

growing up too fast

everyone tells you when you first have your child to enjoy every minute because they grow up right before your eyes.
i have taken their advice and have soaked in every minute watching the little grow.
well, i suppose i haven't enjoyed the last three weeks of interrupted sleep, but nothing can be perfect.
one thing that i love is the fact that nikson "loves" things.
he learned how to kiss and blow kisses and loves it.
he learned to crawl and loves it.
he learned to wave and loves it.
he learned how to open the oven drawer and plays with the cookie sheets. loves it!
he learned to pray and loves it.
mom and dad love that one two.
his little hands look so tiny held together.
when he is introduced to something new, he lightens up the room.
and he makes friends wherever he goes.
the deli lady at sunflower market thinks nikson is her boyfriend.
we may have some trouble.

i love this little.

the etsy shop

dearest dearies,
i would like to make an announcement.

the only one that may be hard is sliding down a rainbow
not quite sure how i am going to make that one work.
but for now...i started an etsy shop!

i have finally checked an item off my bucket list.
it feels really good to do so.

starting an etsy shop has been in the back of my mind for a LOOOONG time.
i would think of things to do and then back out thinking they weren't that great.
i finally just stopped dreaming and started making things.
things i thought were pretty.
i create with some of the loveliest ladies

a thing of beauty is a joy forever

i started following some excellent pinners as of late.
i got real sneaky and looked at who i followed and found out who they followed.
am i catching on slow or what?
holy open my eyes.
it's amazing what you miss out there in the www.
take a little looksy at some of my recent favorites...

it's funny because they say pinterest is for dreamers.
i say, thank heavens we have dreamers.

although this weekend was the total pits as far as our health was concerned, it proved to be rather humorous.
when handsome gets sick his sense of humor gets cranked up a few notches.

for example:

me: " i have been cloroxing everything because the bottle says it kills all cold and flu virus'."
blake: "maybe we should eat them."

we started watching an F1 race and eating Thin Mints.
picture me eating more than just a few.
blake hastily grabs the stack and instead of eating them he shoves them back into the box and frankly states, " look, these are like seven dollars a cookie. don't eat them all at once."

sunday morning he woke up to a massive cold, with allergies stirred up from a windy saturday, and the remnants of a flu spell.
blake: "i have a tri-fec-ta of illness."
me: "i am really sorry."
blake: "me too."

it only helps aid the laughter when he is all stuffy and his hair is sticking straight up.

i really need to start writing down his one liners at the time of execution but half the time i am laughing so hard that i don't.
one of the many things i really appreciate about this guy is his sense of humor.
i think our son is catching on.

the two can make me laugh.
i love it.

the infirmary

well friends, its been pretty grim over here.
i have a little cutting all four molars,
a handsome who has missed work twice, something he never does, due to illness,
and a stomach that doesn't like anything i eat.
we got home from Colorado and everything went downhill.
so wish us luck.
i hope you all have a great weekend.
i will be back monday after i try to be nurse Sybil and get everyone well.

wanderlust

well the little and i are off to my home town this morning for some fun.

i have a couple projects scheduled so stay tuned for those.

i am really excited to be with my family and meet up with some old friends.

we will definitely be missing a certain someone.

what will we ever do without him.
