so nikson is taking an extra long nap so i have been watching this.
and this.
and this.
and this.
and laughing a lot.
i think my most favorite thing in the world is that ellen loves bieber.
and i do too.
don't judge.

a little shop update

coral and coconut has been quite the adventure.
i swear every time we make something i wish i could just keep it.
my latest obsession is our terra cotta pots.
i guess that is the hardest part about opening up a shop with pretty things you love.
can i sell to myself please?

and for all you baby lovers out there, i didn't forget about you...
this little mess had a ball learning how to draw on the sidewalk with chalk.
he kind of figured it out after he ate a handful of dirt, wiped his runny nose all over his face, and ate some chalk.
the boy is loving being outside.

sunshine and shadows

springtime is here and we are absolutely loving it.
in fact, nikson loves this weather so much, when we get clouds and cold, he is a total crank.
when it's sunny though, we have the happiest of babes.

we started planting a few things to welcome in spring.
everything is red.
i have a thing for red.
this morning we added a few primrose to celebrate Hunger Games.
still haven't seen it..i know...woe is me.

my little green thumb.
he loves helping by posing cute for pictures.

i decided real grass for the little's Easter basket was a fun idea this year!

can't wait to show you how well it does.

one of these days we will have some pictures with the whole family.
its nice that handsome can take quality pictures, but it would be nicer for him to be in the pictures.

a shower for syss.

over the weekend we had a special little party for a very special friend of mine.
allyssa is having a baby boy so nikson will have a partner in crime.
she is due in two months so we thought we would get in a celebration before baby finn arrives.
i don't ever really know what to do at showers, but we had fun.
especially since nikson was flirting with all the ladies.

we ate sweet and savory crepes courtousy of bethany with the best party punch on the planet.
we also had my awarding winning...er... second place winning chocolate chip cookies.
won myself a fancy spatula at the ward bake-off!

browns and whites were the theme.
doilies are hitting the trend scene i suppose.
i get sick of the blue and pink stuff.

baby finn was present.
thank heavens.

nikson loves allyssa's sister hailey.
and hailey loves nikson.
she wants us to create our own reality show.
anyone want to fund it?

we could quite possibly be the most embarrassing pair.
i guess that's why i like her so much!
nikson is into phones nowadays.
he gets that from his...parents!

dear dear,

i can not express to you in an ample amount of words how excited i am for the weekend.
i need a break from busy life and to just relax with you and the little.
i also decided that we are going to move one day to this place.

don't worry.
our kids won't know we have money.
we will just live on balboa island and go to the beach.
i will start saving now.
also, i need to tell you something,
your bottom looks really cute as you sleep face down in the couch.
i was going to snuggle and watch social network with you, but i think i will leave you and go watch downton alone.
do not feel badly, you are a sleepy little lamb.

also- i really want it to snow so much tonight that we get snowed in and we have to stay home from work.
do you think noni and syssa would snowshoe over for the ward bake off?

the swan prince

as of late the little has been completely obsessed with animals.
i mean, really, truly, obsessed.
he sees anything with a tail and he full on freaks out.
met these birds.
nikson was honking the whole weekend.
loved them.

swans are actually quite rude.
snap snap.
all the time.

it was all we could do to keep him from flipping over the fence and going swimming.

he is such a tiny little squirt!

 this also has become a daily to-do for father and son.

now although i won't even kind of consider a dog, my heart was stolen by these black beauties.
check out those beaks!
i am now trying to figure out where we could put a pond in the back.
black swans are way more friendly than white ones.
these guys would greet us every time we walked up to the pond.

Glimpses of my life through the iPhone

Blake and I have an ongoing arguement about the amount of time I spend on my phone... versus the amount of undivided attention I give to him.
Truth is, I have a problem.
But in my defense, that thing is
my camera,
my video camera,
my internet (you know, when I am out and about or in bed),
my communication with adults,
my source of entertainment,
my only source of "gaming" 
and my phone, obviously.
I also have an obsession with instagram.
yep, totally unprofessional, filtered, pictures of my life.
and everyone else in my life.
With that being said...
here are a few for your little peepers.

The stockings are hung on our bookcase from Ikea with care.
One day I will have a real mantel
and it will be beautiful.

Candy jars.
Boxwood wreath.
Christmas just isn't the same without them.

And these two little sweeties found their way into my home.
Sparkley.

I also believe no home is complete without a "little" like him.
Ten months is a really fun and darling age.
I kind of just want to pause life and just enjoy this stage a little longer.
