i love lamp

My cute friend Natalie always emails me tutorials for cutsy projects that she thinks I should try out in my house. This one from Sew Mama Sew was a total blast and only cost me $8!

I found this little gem at the DI for $5. Ordinary lamp, right? Not anymore!

Cut up stripes of burlap. The thickness depends on your preference. Fold in half and iron.

Hot glue the fold onto your lamp shade and make sure to bend and twist and ruffle as much as you want... and voila...a lamp shade your mother and Queen Victoria would be proud of.

I used Krylon Spray Paint in Ocean Breeze to add a little splash to my room. Anthropologie sells a shade similar for $98.

  1. JAC! Are you kidding me?! How do you do that? It looks like a completely different lamp! We seriously need to have a craft night where you and Nat teach me how to be crafty haha. Because Chad is also of the decorating is for the birds mindset and I am going to have to learn how to do things CHEAP!
