la magia nella città

Tonight for FHE Blake and I and a couple of his buddies went down to Salt Lake to listen to an organization called, "Story Corps". It is a group that travels all over the world looking for stories of Americans. Fathers interview sons, daughters interviewed their father with Alzheimer's, and there was a girlfriend who interviewed her man and at the end he purposed to her! All there stories are inspirational or humorous. It was a pretty cool event. After the event we went outside and started taking pictures. Blake and Tyson have been getting really into the photography trend and I think Blake is actually very good. He is a talented guy! We met lots a cool people along the way. I met Girfifn, Batman/Spiderman as well. He was only five, but I met him and we flew around the Salt Lake Library for a while. What a cutie!! If you want to see more of Blake's pictures, got to his flickr account here

Ottimismo

I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing; kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles. ~Audrey Hepburn

Maestà

I am so blessed to have someone in my life who appreciates the beauty and majesty of the temple. Blake got off work at seven and the first thing he did was cruise to the temple and take advantage of a beautiful night. I have never seen him so excited to make a picture perfect. The Draper Temple is absolutely beautiful. It possesses a powerful nobility. I love it. When Blake and I were first dating we had to go help with his little sister's garage sale for school dance. We were driving down this hill that has a full view of the temple while it was being constructed. The sun was shining directly on angel Moroni and then shot this beam of light into the valley. It was incredible and Blake looked at me and said, "We have to go there." We both non-verbally agreed and it was then that I felt like I could be with him for a long long time:) Wink Wink! We have a daily reminder of the blessings that come from temple marriage. I am so grateful that embedded in my soul is the desire to be within the Lord's house. I love seeing it and being there. Blake's family took us up there and we just walked around the grounds and it was such a calm and wonderful feeling. I know a lot of people find this temple business strange or not as big of a deal as some make it seem, but there is a power there that is unlike anything I ever felt. The Draper Temple is so beautiful and it is majestic as the picture makes it seem. I love it!

Fotografia

Alright so Blake and I had our first big purchase. The Canon Rebel XTi! This camera rocks and we love taking pictures. It is all we can do to not be out and about taking pictures. Learning the language of photography is kind of hard, but I am learning. Blake is a natural so he just does it perfect. Whatev! Here are some cool pics we have taken. Hooray for hobbies!! Ok so then I just tried to upload the cool ones and these were the only pictures uploaded. We don't only take pictures of ourselves! Ha! I have one more cool picture but I'll do a better blog for it. Enjoy!

Riconoscente

April showers, bring some flipping heavy snow. Our trip to Colorado started off awesome! The kids slept for a long time and baby Belle didn't make a peep the whole trip. Mamie was in the back with Halle and Belle and I sat in the buckets with Luke and Ty sat up in front with Natalie. We had so much fun watching Natalie try and sing the lyrics to songs she really likes and checking herself out in the rear view. Plus, Mamie seriously was making me laugh so hard. She says the nuttiest things. Oh man!! Our trip came to a sudden hault in Vail when the roads turned into a total death trap.

I am not the biggest fan of spring snowstorms. Oh brother. Talk about carrying stress in my back! We seriously wished we had flown. Cars were slidding all over the place. There was a huge wreck and even the chained rigs were slidding backwards. I was so worried. It was crazy because we wanted to stop and help the cars that were stuck so bad, but if we did then we would get stuck too. There was a lot of spiritual applications. As we drove by Mamie yells, "We only have enough oil for us to see the bridegroom." And that is how it felt. We had to take care of our family and prepare enough for us. That seems very selfish I know, but that is kind of the plan. We can't get "spiritually stuck". So instead of getting stuck, we prayed really hard for the other cars to make it. There was one car that every time he pressed on the gas he would slide closer and closer to the wall and we just kept shouting, "Look out!" "Be careful." We don't really know what happened, but we got home safe and sound. I am so thankful.

Now on to more exciting news...We had a blast our first day in Colorado. Lots of preparation for some upcoming fall events. Before we left Mamie and Halle got a sneak peek of a little bit of my excitement...We are making tutus for a certain wedding that I am not supposed to talk about because it isn't quite official yet. BUT...it has been given the OK for planning and preparing. I am more than thrilled. My Dad kept coming in and saying,"I don't know why the flip we are making tutus when he hasn't even asked the big dog for permission yet." He has a really great relationship with Blake so it is fun for them to joke around. The tutus turned out so cute and the girls love love love them. The older girls are wearing these really cute black skirts that Jenn found for Maya at Children's Place. We called ten different stores and finally found some on 16th Mall. So Gab, Tae, Aubrey, and Maya will all wear the black party skirts. We are pretty excited to get this all done and taken care of before summer hits and before I have a ring:) Much love Mr. Bishop.
The babies look so darling in the skirts. Even Luke can pull off a peach tutu pretty well. He felt a little left out with all these girls running around like fairies. So he put one on too. No worries. He still maintains his masculinity.
